I thoroughly enjoy telling a story, whether that is about the mistakes I have made so far in my business career and the lessons I have learnt from them, or entertaining stories on subjects such as learning the hard way about cultural differences when doing business in China. Generally known for telling my stories with humour and humility, I aim for the audience to enjoy the story whilst also remembering the important lessons that each story tells. Whatever the subject may be.
I’ve successfully spoken at an accountancy professionals seminar right through to engaging at a specialist session for a handful of troubled teenage children who had fallen out of the education system. Most commonly I’ve spoken at Universities for business studies students, Young Enterprise Awards and Networking events.
My areas of specialism for business focus around;
- Selling businesses the wrong way, and then the right way.
- Dealing with international trade the wrong way, and then the right way.
- How business can engage with Enterprise in Education.
- Engaging & motivating your staff.
- Knowing your limits, running a business during a breakdown.
- The art of networking, online and offline.
My areas of specialism for education focus around;
- Overcoming adversity as a child, and how business direction can help.
- Inspiration and Direction, what do you want out of life?
For educational institutions I’ve also experienced just being someone for a small group of troubled children to chat to, which at times has led to colourful conversations but that hasn’t phased me. So long as one young person comes away from those sessions with an ignited flame of inspiration to make something of themselves then my work has not been in vain, and if it helps to arrive in bike leathers on a race prepped very loud motorcycle I can do that too. Whatever it takes to help engage the young audience!
