Mentoring is often just having someone outside your own close environment to bounce ideas off, or to just sanity check your own ideas. Furthermore a really good mentor is someone who can also coach you, motivate you when you feel challenged, someone who has been right at rock bottom and questioned their own ability to carry on but did and succeeded.
I’ve worked with various businesses owners, staff and individuals over the past few years to help them further develop their own skills. Whether you call it coaching or mentoring they both mean similar things to me. As part of the Northamptonshire Ambassador program I have supported young people to adjust and develop their business skills to further their careers, I’ve worked with owners of small local businesses to help them grow, and I’ve worked with managers and staff to help them help each other.
My style of more a coaching, or reassurance, approach and when helping the person to see various options I play a very good Devil’s Advocate. I am very good at helping identify ways to overcome obstacles, helping business owners make better use of their staff resources, or even seeing or planning the business future.
If you would like to book a meeting to see ways in which I could help you or your business please contact Dawn Porch.
